PROFESSIONAL HISTORY AND BOARD EXPERIENCE
Kaj is a technology executive, venture capital investor and advisor, managing Redstone VC in Nordics. Kaj has 25+ years of experience with Chair, CEO and COO roles as well as heading sales, marketing, and operations in Europe, Asia and Americas, and 100+ early stage investments, trade sale exits (e.g. First Hop, Booxmedia, Cabforce, Hibox) and public offering/listing (Tecnotree, Loihde, Inderes). Kaj has versatile governance experience having served 30 boards and coached hundreds of startups. Currently chair of ALD semiconductor technology company Chipmetrics, chair of digital sales consultancy Columbia Road (Futurice Group), and chair of Nasdaq-Helsinki traded investor relations company Inderes Plc. Head coach of defence tech startup accelerator DEFINE. Mentor for the Women Executives Program at Finnish Chambers of Commerce.
Previously the President & CEO of Tecnotree, COO for FOX Mobile, wholly-owned by NewsCorp, COO at First Hop. Began his career at Nokia Networks in R&D, global marketing, operator sales in Stockholm, and strategy for mobile internet applications.
M.Sc. in Industrial Management from the Aalto University of Technology in Finland, Trium MBA from the London School of Economics and Political Science, the HEC School of Management and from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. Naval Academy.
